What is a label?
It is a set of standards, processes and rules to follow in order to have the right to use the Label logo.
Example: Banana production
- such defined varieties authorized
- such ways of growing
- such ways of packaging the banana
- such economic model
- produced in a defined geographical area…
All controlled by a control body that will validate the use of the label or not.
What is a label used for?
It is a recognition of all validated processes which are almost always linked to values of origin and quality of products or/and processes.
This makes it possible to unite a community in the face of goals achieved or to be achieved and to make the community responsible for the results.
Example: if the water of a lake is contaminated by an activity, this will have an impact on the label of this same activity, on the fishing label, and on that of the quality of drinking water. In addition to the risk of contamination, there will then be a risk for the whole community of losing its label and its associated advantages (funding, partnerships, sales contracts, etc.).
